What is the Slovey Fund?

The Slovey Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance scholarships to families with demonstrated financial need. The fund is named after our long-time school secretary, Mrs. Joanne Slovey, who retired in 2010 after 32 years of service.

Why is the Slovey Fund needed?

85 years ago when our school began, there were 50 students in a classroom, technology was a chalkboard, and Franciscan sisters taught for low wages. Today there are 25 students in a room, media and technology are developing daily, and teachers are people with advanced degrees who have their own families.

While we strive to keep our school affordable, tuition can be a struggle for many in these difficult economic times. Last year, thanks to your generosity, we raised over $18,000 for the Fund and provided tuition assistance scholarship to 36 students. Without this assistance, many of these students would not have been able to attend our school and receive a quality education infused with values of Jesus Christ.
