General Program Information

Welcome to St. Christopher's Kindergarten Program! At St. Christopher School, we are committed to working with you to make your child's year of kindergarten fun, exciting, challenging, and most of all, enjoyable.

The environment of Kindergarten includes specific ongoing activities that foster children's language abilities, value what each child has to say, and exhibits patience to wait for them to speak. This is a nurturing environment that will help children to become better listeners, as well as to develop the skill to communicate feelings, ideas, solutions and praise in a clear manner.

We also have a strong moral dimension to our kindergarten program. We strive to instill Christian values in our kindergarten students. We encourage them to help and assist each other as appropriate. We have one main rule in our classroom, and that is... Never hurt anyone on the inside or the outside!

In addition to our academic and religious instruction, our kindergarten program has a rich range of enrichment activities to foster the development of the whole child. We have the following weekly enrichment activities:

  • Computer class, taught by our school computer teacher, Mr. Fasano, in one of our computer labs (Monday)
  • Music class, taught by a school music teacher, Mr. Selle, in our school music room (Tuesday, first semester)
  • Spanish class, teaching the basics of the Spanish language (Tuesday, second semester)
  • Library time, featuring stories and projects with our school librarian, Mrs. Monahan (Tuesday)
  • All-School Mass (Wednesday)
  • Gym, taught by our school physical education teacher, Mrs. Wiggins (Thursday)

Hours and Tuition Rates

Our kindergarten program is a full-day program and students attend school five days per week, from 8:10am until 2:40pm. By structuring our program as a full-day program, we feel that this is best way to prepare your child for success in his elementary school education.

Our current parishioner tuition rate for the 2009-2010 school year is $3,360 per year. For details of our tuition and fees, please visit our tuition and fees page.
